How to DIY your labubu

Many Labubu fans love customizing their figures—whether it’s changing clothes, modifying details, or even building a unique Labubu from scratch. Today, I’ll share how to create a Labubu skeleton as the foundation for your DIY project.

❤️ Tools You’ll Need

2.5mm coated iron wire
1.5mm coated iron wire
Diagonal pliers
Pliers

These are the basic tools you’ll be using throughout the process.

❤️ Making the Skeleton

At first, I tried making a one-piece skeleton, but after assembly, the neck couldn’t rotate properly. To add a neck joint, I had to switch to a two-piece skeleton. This tutorial is inspired by @JINX (DMs not open), with my own adjustments.

1. Head Skeleton

Start by assembling the head, body, hands, and feet. (This part is more complex and I’ll cover it in detail later.)
Take a 40cm piece of 2.5mm wire, wrap it around the head to determine the right size.
Twist one end of the wire 3–4 times to form two ears. After deciding the ear length, bend the tips and cut off the excess (leave a short section at the bend).

2. Body Skeleton

Cut two 20cm pieces of 2.5mm wire and bend them to form arms, legs, and body into an “X” shape.
Twist the body sections of the two wires together.
Take 1.5mm wire and wrap it around starting from the thighs all the way to the shoulders.
After wrapping, adjust the arm and leg length, bend the wire, and cut off the excess with diagonal pliers (leave a short section at the bend).
✅ Body skeleton complete

🌟 Final Check

Don’t forget to place the skeleton inside the body for a test fit!

The wires for the hands and feet should fit into the holes of the corresponding parts.
The neck joint should have enough space to allow the head to rotate smoothly.

Now your DIY Labubu skeleton is ready! The next step is to add accessories, clothing, or even make more creative modifications.
